FAFSA FOR THE CLASS OF 2015 WILL BE AVAILABLE ON JANUARY 1, 2015.
IF YOUR STUDENT IS PLANNING TO ATTEND COLLEGE IN 2015 IT IS BEST TO DO YOUR TAXES AND YOUR FAFSA AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE.
All students who want to receive any type of financial aid must fill out the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Financial Aid). They must also apply for a PIN number for the student and for one parent. To apply for the pin and to find out more information on the FAFSA go to:
You may file your FAFSA using estimated information but you must change the information once you have actually filed your taxes. Many students are also required to verify their income as well as their parents. This will require you to send an IRS transcript of your taxes to their college or university. If you file your taxes late in the spring this may delay your final financial award letter. So plan ahead and file early.
